LEAD DEVELOPER NOTE

I Screwed up.

As the lead developer of my team (COOP), I overlooked as me and my teamates poured hours and hours over the course of days during the jam so that this project could be completed as we've envisioned it. The game was only ready 6 hours before the deadline of the jam, and I was programming the last bits of the game at 4 am before going to work at 6. I don't regret the time spent on the project. But since I was too tired, I forgot to turn on window stretching, so the game couldn't scale to different sized monitors. Figuring that would just be a tweak, I went to sleep to fix it later. That is what I regret. I ended up deleting the game's file after the voting period had begun and now our game, the work we've sunk some dozens of hours into, is not in the jam anymore.

I'm writing this so that if you stumbled upon the game and liked the GDD and still think we deserve your attention, as soon as the jam is over I'll reupload it with its fixes. I just wanted to make this disclaimer as a public message so that my team could know how I screwed up and other devs looking through the jam can maybe learn from my mistake.

I'm sorry, guys.

General Idea

Move around the environment while avoiding light sources, and as a homunculus try not to get caught while you absorb ingredients to process them using the Magnum Opus as your guide to the Philosopher’s Stone.

Gameplay

Absorb ingredients scattered throughout the castle, while concealing yourself. Try to find the ingredients as fast as possible before anyone in the castle grounds spots you.

Main Mechanic

This game’s movement is entirely grid-based and the player controls everything. Enemies only move when you move, so you’ve got to plan out your movement wisely.
